Enrolment
Before your child starts at the centre please bring the
following:
-
Completed ‘Enrollment Form’.
-
Birth Certificate, or passport.
-
Immunization record, or a short letter stating that
you chose not to have your child immunized.
We are required to keep up-to-date records of the
immunization status of all the children who attend our
centre. If you have a ‘Well Child Book’ we can photo
copy it here.
Orientation and Settling
We enjoy and welcome visits from children, parents,
grandparents and other family and whanau members all
times prior to your child starting at the centre, and
once they are settled. Staff will make themselves known
to you and your child and detailed discussions on your
child’s development, behavior, sleeping and eating
requirements can be shared.
Children are welcome to bring their cuddly/blanket,
favorite teddy or toy during the settling in period.
Parent Involvement
We operate an open door policy, where parents, family/whanau
are welcome into the centre at anytime, and can spend as
much or as little time as they choose. Parent
participation sends a strong positive message to your
child that you support them and are part of their
childcare environment. Communication is a vital
ingredient in forming partnerships and relationships
between the parents, the teachers and your child. Please
feel free to share with us about what your has been
doing at home or family trips that they have been on or
intend to go on, or perhaps family are visiting from
overseas, If you have any concerns about your child
please also approach us. This also provides valuable
information for the staff when planning for child. The
staff want you to be happy and feel welcomed at our
centre, it is important to us.
Signing in Sheets
All parents are required to sign their child in and out
on the form provided, located in the foyer. A ‘Monthly
Attendance Register’, will also be provided for you to
sign also located in the foyer. This is a legal
requirement by the Ministry of education and the centre
can be audited at anytime to ensure compliance with our
roll returns (the bases of bulk funding). It is also a
safety requirement in case of an emergency evacuation of
the centre therefore a very important part of your drop
off and pick up routine.
